Executive Chef (Expat)
As Executive Chef, you will be responsible for leading the overall kitchen operations at NIHI Sumba. You will train and manage kitchen teams, supervise and coordinate culinary activities, estimate food consumption, assist in the purchase of food and select, develop and create exciting and nourishing recipes for guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Leading the kitchen management team.
2. Supervising, coaching, and leading Exc.Sous Chef ,CDP of different styles of cuisine.
3. Supervising, coaching, and leading the pastry chef.
4. Providing direction for all day-to-day kitchen operations.
5. Understanding all kitchen employee positions well enough to be able to perform all kitchen duties as and when required.
6. Providing guidance and direction to subordinates; including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
7. Utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others.
8. Advocate sound financial/business decision-making.
9. Demonstrate honesty and integrity, while leading by example to encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation amongst team members.
10. Serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate kitchen behaviors.
11. Actively communicate the importance of safety procedures; detailing procedure codes, ensuring staff understanding of safety codes, while monitoring all processes and procedures related to safety and hygiene.
12. Participation in the budgeting process for areas of responsibility.
Providing direction and creativity for menu development.
13. Determining and ensuring eye-catching methods for food presentation. Recognizing and ensuring superior quality products, while ensuring consistency in quality presentation and flavors.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
1.This position is open for ex-pats only, based in a remote location.
2. Experience working in a remote location.
3. Minimum of 5 years experience within the industry and culinary management.
4. Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Passion for leadership and teamwork.
5. Eye for detail to achieve operational excellence.
6. Exemplary skills in guest service.
